Furaha Farms was established to help feed the children at the center while creating a pathway toward long-term sustainability. Our goal is to grow enough food not only to meet the daily nutritional needs of the children but also to eventually generate income through the sale of surplus produce.

The older children will actively participate in planting and maintaining crops such as vegetables, potatoes, and tomatoes, helping them develop valuable agricultural skills and a strong sense of responsibility. To increase productivity, an irrigation system will be installed to ensure consistent water supply, and vertical gardening methods will be implemented to maximize the use of available space and increase overall harvest yields.

Irrigation

We have successfully completed the initial phase of the project by digging a well, which now provides a reliable water source. The next step is to complete the irrigation system, which will allow us to sustain consistent crop growth throughout the year. In addition, we are seeking support to construct a small greenhouse to protect our crops and improve yields, as well as a storage shed to safely house tools, equipment, and planting supplies.
